2009 – An interesting restaurant in Ellenton, Florida – about 30 miles south of Tampa. This features basic pizza restaurant foods – the main attraction is the organ music blaring while you eat. Most of the people eating here enjoy the music as they recall ‘the good old days’. You can also buy CDs of the music in the lobby (Bill Vlasak). The organ player (see photos) is a one man band with drums, organ, and even a bubble machine. Dancing is encouraged.
2010 Update: Restaurant has closed
2011 Update: The restaurant is now a public library!
I am so sad to see this place close down. We had many wonderful visits to hear the Mighty Wurlitzer. Oh, and could you fix the name, you’ve got the wrong town, it’s Ellenton, not Ellington. Thank you. Laura Logue
Was sorry to hear of the closing. Every visit to my sister was always a visit to the Roaring 20s pizza & pipes.
How can I buy some recordings- Either Bill Or Dwight, If any one knows please contact me. – David F, Gourley
WISH YOU GUYS ARE STILL PLAYING!!! PLEASE COME BACK TO INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA!!!!
HEY BILL WHY DON’T YOU BE THE OWNER OF THE PIZZA PALACE!!!! – BOSS HOGG
Isn’t there a semi millionaire out there who will reopen the Roaring Twenties pizza to save the mighty wurlitzer organ.
It’s awesome to see and hear.. – warren taylor
Every year my sister and I went to the Roaring 20’s with our parents at spring break time. It was a highlight of our visit! I came from Indianapolis and my sister from Dayton, OH. My dad told me on the phone last night that it had closed. I am so sad. I have glasses and cd’s of both Bill and Dwight to remember. To all of you — thank you for making our years visiting our parents such a happy memory!
I hope some day you will reopen! – Marta
The Dickinson Theater Organ Society has their organ installed in a High School in Delaware. They have been there for years and have a complete concert schedule every year with popular organists from here, South America, and Europe. I wonder if anyone has thought of that for this organ here? Has anyone approached Disney in Orlando, I would think it would be a terrific attraction possibly in Epcot or the Magic Kingdom. Just a thought, of course the best would be for it to be reopened in its current location. How’s about doing concerts right on the sight on the model of the Dickinson Theater Organ Society with special organists and charging ticket prices to reflect the costs?
I Miss that organ!!!!! – William Spayd
