A copper coffee pot for making Turkish coffee. How do you make Turkish coffee?
It is best to purchase the Turkish coffee pre-spiced. The spices in the coffee include: cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg.
To make at home:
2 teaspoons of FINE ground coffee beans
1/8 teaspoon of ground cardamom
1/12 teaspoon of ground clove
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
It is the way you cook/brew the coffee that makes it Turkish (as well as the spices you add to the coffee)
The method of brewing the coffee: 2 teaspoons of coffee grounds to 1/4th cup of water. This is brought to a boil THREE times, each time you remove the coffee pot from the heat. On the 3rd boil you add sugar to taste. Let the coffee settle in the pot and then pour into a cup. If you are skilled, you will not pour much of the grounds into the drinking cup. It can appear thick or foamy on top.
