This is a certified organic Fair Trade green coffee from Columbia. Grown by members of the APECAFE cooperative, a collective that supports efforts to improve roads and schools, promotes education about organic and sustainable coffee farming methods, and helps diversify incomes away from illegal cash crops. This is a very smooth coffee with rich cocoa flavors and a medium to mild acidity.

Interesting to note: the green coffee beans do NOT have any ‘coffee’ smell, if anything they smell like dirt. You CAN’t grind and brew the beans while they are green – they wouldn’t grind well, and wouldn’t taste at all like coffee. They are LOADED with caffeine in the unroasted state, but wayyy to bitter to consume.
